It starts with caring and a vision…
Reginald McNeil, TYM Founder
Reginald McNeil Bio:
Every story has its price. TYM’s founder and Executive Director, has paid his.
A Winston-Salem native, Reggie or Ty as he is called by old friends and family, grew up experiencing many of the same obstacles facing the youth we serve today. After graduating from East Forsyth High School and joining the Navy, Reggie eventually began a career in corporate America. He currently works full-time in Charlotte as a General Manager with CHEP, a logistics and supply chain management firm servicing aerospace, automotive, chemical and consumer goods companies. Through hard work, opportunity and mentors in his own life, Reggie has overcome challenges and envisioned an organization to help other young people do the same. He began giving back years ago by acting as a community organizer then later through mentoring at-risk youth in Atlanta’s public housing communities and guiding single mothers towards financial mobility and home ownership. After returning to North Carolina, he established Transforming Youth Movement believing that by focusing on the themes of mentoring, educational enhancement, career preparedness, social awareness and civic engagement, he could change the lives of young people. Reggie truly believes that if given the choice, with guidance and opportunity, young people will do the right thing.
He hopes to inspire those in a position to make a difference that they are in fact their ‘brother’s keeper’ and he intends to help youth understand, “If their mind can conceive it, and their heart can believe it, then they can achieve it!”
